what are you surrounding yourself with

I was just listening to one of the free online classes I signed up for, and they mentioned that in order to de-stress, you need to surround yourself with what you want, what you want to be, things that inspire you. Instead of listening to depressing news about the economy, or anything else that you don’t want.

I truly believe in this. I find myself uplifted when I look at what I have put in my house and yard. It grounds me and helps me realize that life is not so hard.

I was in Sedona for a week long class. They talked about surrounding yourself with positive news. Where your mind goes, energy follows.

I've been wanting to build a home based on the principles in the book called "not so big house". So I've started collecting pictures and articles on what I want in my house. I've also started fixing up my house in order to sell it. I have subscribed to a few daily inspirational email site. They state that you should FEEL as if you already have what you want. And while you are feeling this, you continue to work on what needs to get done to get you to that state. I FEEL excited. I see myself getting up in the morning, walking into my new bathroom, walking onto my new terrace to do my morning exercises, and then walking into my new kitchen to make something to eat, and then sitting on my new patio to eat.

Actually, I heard that Tiger Woods spends a couple of hours visualizing his golf matches beforehand. I think that there is something to visualizing. In fact, I've heard that thoughts do not penetrate the subconscious mind whereas mental pictures do. I think that is why envisioning works so well.Jason Schilli
