How powerful are your words?

How powerful are your words?

Watch what you say. Don’t say bad things. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me.  Bring back memories from your past?  But is there any history behind these words of wisdom.

thank you water

In the book “Hidden Messages in Water” by Masaru Emoto, they placed a word on a piece of paper and put it around a bottle of water. “Water exposed to the words “thank you” formed beautiful geometric crystals, no matter what the language. But water exposed to “you fool” and other degrading words resulted in obviously broken and deformed crystals.” Amazing work to prove how words impact the water. And humans are made up mostly of water!

While the water experiment provides proof,  here is a more personal experiment  that you can try at home to help you actually see this effect. Take 2 plants that are the same. Give them the same amount of water, food, and light. Place them at minimum 1 foot apart. Each day speak to each plant. One plant say “I hate you” about 5 times. To the other plant say “I love you” about 5 times. that is the ONLY difference between how you treat each plant. Make sure when you speak to each plant that you speaking in a direction that does not affect the other plant.  The results will amaze you and should help you see the impact clearly.

So what are your words bringing into your life?

I first learned about Masaru Emoto from the documentary ‘What the Bleep Do We Know’, which is one of my all-time favorites. I watch it again every few months.

My friend was recently going to kind of a depressed period, and I shared with her how her thoughts were affecting her body and the hormones it produces. She really took it to heart and is now actively trying to choose happy thoughts and speak positively.

    Great post! Very valuable lesson!
